Staminate and pistillate flowers similar, with conspicuous white corolla; bumblebees like the flowers a lot; foliage viscid, smelly-like a wet dog; high-climbing vine, in a dead persimmon tree (the vines were pulling the tree down). Most ovaries aborted early in the summer (seeds planted about April this year); fruits truly spectacular--dark green, clavate, with wonderful ridges and bumps on the swollen distal portion...I got 2 fruits off the vine that probably weigh between 6 and 8 lbs; culivated in backyard garden on Devereaux Rd., Columbia.
