This plant counted n = 12. This is plant #4 of four plants raised from achenes collected at the above site. Pressed July 7, 1986. Note: This plant has the morphology ascribed to "C. alexandrae Sherff" - few or no ligules. The first 4 heads produced lacked ligules; heads 5-7 had one ligule; later heads had 0, 1, or 2 ligules. It otherwise is typical C. parthenioides var. parthenioides, and the other three plants raised were typical C. parth. var. parth. (with 3-5 ligules per head); except plants # 2 and 3 had white pollen masses (rather than the usual yellow). This plant has outer achenes short-aristate, the wings with a reddish line. Pollen stainability = 100%.
