Flower diameter 55-65 mm, length 75-90 mm, outer perianth red-green to light at base, inner perianth white with pinkish cast; stigma lobe number 9-12, cream; Stems cylindrical, gray-green; spines gray and some with dark gray tips, few spines on older growth, many on new growth, newer spines darker in color; Fruit diameter 38-40 mm, length 42-45 mm, fleshy, green or reddish-green, covered with reddish-brown spines, pulp in one white, pulp in other red; Seeds black.
