Habitat: Common on clayey alluvium on mudflat on sloping margin of retreating stock tank on otherwise level topography underlain by Catahoula and Frio formations, undivided. Associates include Chloracantha spinosa, Cynodon dactylon, Eleocharis sp., Eragrostis hypnoides, Glinus radiatus, Helenium sp., Phyla sp., Teucrium cubense, Tridens albescens.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
