United States, Texas, Chambers, Wallisville, ca. 1/4 mi. south of Texas Hwy. 73 bridge, ca. 1/8 mile north of Trinity River, along road toward river, south side of road. Field at roadside.
Brown friable clay. Associated with Acacia farnesiana, Gleditsia, Maclura, Quercus sp. Tree, 6 m. Basal diameter 25 cm. (one of two stems). Crown, 8 m. Irregularly branched, nodding to ground. Perianth greenish yellow, fuzzy white inside. Bark gray-brown, furrows helical, flaking.
